Hello – I wanted to mention my recent purchase experience with Mancuso Motorworks of Chicago for the purchaseof an Audi RS5.I am a confessed car enthusiast and have purchased many cars to date, including everything from Pontiac GTOs toPlymouth AAR Cudas and the like. I prefer a bit of performance!As Director of the auto fleet for a billion dollar company, I “get” to purchase all of the vehicles, so I have a fairly goodidea of how the purchase works. I know how to obtain a good deal and can apply the same processes for mypersonal purchases.My research brought me to the Audi RS5 coupe, a real driver’s car with Audi luxury. I finally found the right car atMancuso Motorworks in Chicago - it was (only) 1,200 miles away!
The Mancuso sales representative that I spokewith seemed like a good guy on the phone - not the typical fast-talking type that I have encountered previously. Hisname was Jake. He was very personable and knowledgeable about the car on the phone, and had answers for myquestions. When he didn’t know the answer he found out, which put me at ease. The more I learned about the car,the more I knew this was the one. I had been studying the market for this make, model, year and options and knewwhat the price range should be – and this one was priced right.
I coordinated a pre-purchase inspection at the Audidealership which I paid for and Jake even took it there and back for me. The car checked out to be in amazing overallcondition, but for a small hidden nail in a tire – which they took care of repairing. We discussed pricing and got to anagreement which I thought was very favorable to me.I found a flight and flew to Chicago to inspect and test drive the car. It was impeccable. Jake didn’t know it but I wassold in the first few seconds of seeing the car. Done!The test drive just cemented my decision as it was (is) a fantastic driver’s car and looks very understated which iswhat I wanted. Jake helped me through the purchase process, then my son and I drove it all the way from Chicagoback to Florida – I have been smiling ear-to-ear ever since!Thank you Jake and Mancuso Motorworks!
If you are buying an XKE for comfort or speed look elsewhere. If you are looking for a beautiful car that will only go up in value the XKE is for you.
Why would anyone spend the same amount on a new Corvette that will depreciate the second it leaves the showroom. Why spend that much on a car that is as common as a Toyota? I guess if you want to race people at the stop light then go for the Vette. If you are satisfied with only going 150n MPH in the most beautiful car ever made then the XKE is a better choice IMHO. We found the Mercedes we never thought we would have.

It’s a white 2014 gl450 and it was obviously well taken care of before us. We dealt with Rick who was very responsive and helpful. He answered all of our questions and was pleasant to talk to. The cars they have on their showroom are insane.

It kept my 10 yo and 7 yo occupied, kind of like Disneyland for car enthusiasts except you cannot touch anything.:) We worked the deal and came to agreement on terms, much better that I thought we would. Most of the communication was through text messaging which is perfect. We went to the dealer to test drive on a Friday and after some more research and a little comparison shopping we bought on the following Wednesday. With Rick’s help this was the car for us.
